Richard J. LeBlanc, AIA, NCARB

Donald T. Young, AIA, NCARB

Richard earned his architectural degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in 1967, and has been a registered architect since 1972. In 1973, he founded Richard LeBlanc Architects, changing to Richard LeBlanc Architects, Inc. in 1978. In 2006, he and Donald Young formed LeBlanc & Young Architects, Inc.

Richard is a member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Louisiana Architects Association (LAA), Shreveport Chapter of AIA, and holds certification in the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Licensed to practice Architecture in Louisiana and Arkansas, and has emeritus status as an Architect and an Interior Designer in the state of Texas.

Richard presently serves on the Louisiana State Boards of Architectural Examiners (LSBAE) and the Louisiana Building Code Advisory Committee for the Department of Natural Resources (the only architect to do so.) Richard also sits on the governing board of the Louisiana State Fair Exhibit Museum.

He has also attended several sessions of the Harvard Graduate School of Design, with courses in Public School Planning and Design, Excellence in Planning and Design of Public Schools, and Responding to Transformation in Health Care Planning and Design.

Richard’s design and production skills provide the key creative driver for the LeBlanc & Young Architects, Inc.

Don earned his architectural degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1977, and has been a registered architect since 1986. Working for several major architectural firms in Northwestern Louisiana for 12 years, he joined the firm of Richard LeBlanc Architects, Inc. in 1996. In 2006, he and Richard LeBlanc formed LeBlanc & Young Architects, Inc.

Don is a member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Louisiana Architects Association (LAA), Shreveport Chapter of AIA, and holds certification in the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He is a registered architect in the state of Louisiana.

Don has also attended the Harvard Graduate School of Design, having completed courses in Excellence in Planning and Design of Public Schools.

Don is a principal architect and project manager, and is in charge of specification and construction observation and supervision. His is highly regarding for his work in the field of completing construction projects and as a liaison in dealing with general contractors.
